PPL – Private Pilot License (for pilots)

The Private Pilot License (PPL) is the first major pilot license obtained through flight training, allowing you to fly an aircraft for personal and recreational purposes, but not for commercial pay.

Private Pilot License (PPL) Overview

What you can do with a PPL

With a Private Pilot License (PPL), you can enjoy flight training that allows you to fly single-engine aircraft for leisure or personal travel. You are permitted to carry passengers, such as friends or family, without receiving compensation. Additionally, you can fly both domestically and internationally, although this is subject to specific regulations. Furthermore, obtaining your PPL helps you build flight hours that count towards advanced licenses like the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

What you cannot do

It is important to note that with a PPL, you cannot fly for hire or receive any payment. This also means you cannot work as a commercial airline or charter pilot.

Why is it worth choosing the PPL(A) course?

The PPL(A) course offers a well-structured training process that is divided into theoretical and practical sections. Completing the theoretical part is a prerequisite to move on to the practical training, ensuring you have a solid foundation of knowledge and flight safety. Under the guidance of experienced instructors and utilizing modern training resources, your PPL(A) course will be both effective and enjoyable. This preparation will ensure you are ready for independent flights as soon as you obtain your PPL(A) license and meet the medical requirements (Class 2 certificate). Don’t wait – fulfill your dream of flying by enrolling in a flight training course today.

Theoretical Knowledge

The PPL(A) course includes a minimum of 100 hours of theoretical knowledge covering essential subjects such as:

- Aircraft General Knowledge

- Principles of Flight

- Flight Performance and Planning

- Air Law

- Operational Procedures

- Human Performance & Limitations

- VFR Communications

- Meteorology

- Navigation

Flight Training

In the PPL course, there is a minimum of 45 hours of flight training, which includes both dual and solo flight training as required by EASA.

Dual flight training includes:

- 4 hours of aircraft flight familiarization

- 4 hours of local manoeuvres

- 10 hours of circuits to practice various take-offs and landings

Solo flight training consists of:

- 5 hours of solo circuits

- 5 hours of advanced manoeuvres

- 2 hours of local solo navigation, which is out of the circuit area.

For navigation, the training includes:

- 8 hours of dual overseas cross country

- 3 hours of solo overseas cross country

- 2 hours of basic instrument flight

- 3 hours for the revision of all previous manoeuvres.
